Matt and Vince have a special connection. One like no other. They are two peas in a pod. Best friends. Bonded together for life. The way they love each other, makes my heart melt. They spend hours together, playing, chatting, singing, sleeping, reading etc etc. Oh, and I wish you could hear the laughter, it’s the best!!! They both laugh from the very bottom of their tummies. I love these two so much it hurts. They are my number one, my favourite favourites, my reason for everything.
Here are some of my favourite father son moments:
And did I mention what an amazing husband and father Vince is. Like only the best ever! I am so blessed to have such a hardworking, loving, amazing man in my life. How did I get so lucky?
Why do teenagers think that they know EVERYTHING? My 13 year old niece knows everything and her opinion is the only one that counts. On a recent shopping trip, I held up a pair of jeans that I thought were quite cute, Jade turned to me with her little hand on her hip and politely said “Oh my word Aunty Cands, you can’t be serious, I would NEVER wear that!” I’ve gone from being the cool aunt, to the boring aunt who has no idea about anything. How sad is that? When she was 9 years old she told me that she wants to be just like me when she grows up… Not anymore :(.
Years ago, Vince made Jade some beautiful plain white frames for her room, he made them in a way that the pictures in the frames could be replaced as she outgrew them. At the time I put in pictures of the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana, which she loved, but now, not so much. Those old pics were way overdue for a makeover, and since Jade is redecorating her room, my timing couldn’t be more perfect. But I had no idea where to start, I had to find inspiration somewhere (eeeeeck), the pressure was on. How do I impress this all-knowing teenager?
And then it dawned on me, LOVE… that would be my inspiration. I love Jade, love her like she is my own daughter, she even calls me her “other mother”. So sweet, my heart melts when she introduces me to her friends.
So, with my new found inspiration (and a little help from Pinterest), I got busy designing! This is the end result 🙂
This artwork will look amazing with Jade’s new purple colour scheme, and hopefully she won’t outgrow it anytime soon.
In my previous post about my Charlie, I didn’t do him any justice. It was a rushed post just to get something online. Sorry my Charlie xxx. I will NEVER do that again, I am better than that and I’ll make an effort to put much more time and effort into my future posts. So now, more about my Charlie baby…
We adopted Charlie when he was seven years old, he was by no means a young man anymore. We loved the little guy from day one and he loved us too (he told me so, several times). He was this chubby little sausage dog with the most amazing little fat rolls on his paws. Too cute for words. I used to pick him up and squeeze him tight, he loved that. When little Peanut arrived at our house, all fresh and new, Charlie was besotted with him. I mean TOTALLY obsessed. Peanut was wet for two solid weeks when he first arrived because Charlie would’nt stop licking him. They loved each other so much and used to cuddle in their little bed. Never you mind that they each had their own bed!!! They would squeeze into one just so that they could be together. So adorable.
Charlie hated squeaky toys. Anything that had a squeak was destroyed in seconds. And my Charlie used to hop when he was excited and he used to drag his blankie around wherever he went. I have so many beautiful memories, my Charlie still makes me smile and always will.
Just a quick post about my wonderful brother and sister. You guys are the BEST! Love you to the ends of the earth.
As you can see, we’re a mad bunch. That’s why we love each other so much.
